Screening question templates: ask the right things, every time
If you hire for the same handful of roles each season, you're probably retyping the same screening questions over and over. Save them once as a named template, then drop them into any job in a click, the same idea as scorecard templates, but for the questions applicants answer.
Build a template
- Go to My business → Hiring team.
- Under Screening question templates, tap + New screening template.
- Name it for the role, "Line Cook", "Housekeeping", "Front Desk", and add one question per line.
- Save, and repeat for each role you hire for.
Load it onto a job
When you post or edit a job, use the Load a saved template dropdown right above the screening questions:
- Add to questions appends the template's questions (and skips any duplicates).
- Replace swaps in the template's set.
You can still edit the questions for that specific job afterward, a template is a starting point, not a lock.
Questions worth templating
- Availability, "Can you work weekends and holidays through Labor Day?"
- Certifications, "Do you have a food handler's card or ServSafe?"
- Role fit, "Comfortable lifting 25–50 lbs for a full shift?"
- Logistics, "Do you have reliable transportation to 30A?"
Templates vs. scorecards
Two tools, both per-role, easy to mix up:
- Screening templates are questions *applicants* answer when they apply.
- Scorecard templates are what *your team* rates them on after the interview.
Use them together and every role gets asked the right things up front and judged on what matters.
